The screenshots on this page show the sites that I have designed. If you like what you see, contact me, and we’ll talk about your website needs.

Department of Linguistics & TESOL, UT Arlington

I’m a PhD student in the Department of Linguistics & TESOL at The University of Texas at Arlington, and in spring 2008 I asked whether the department would be interested in a website redesign. I did part of the work on my own and the rest as a part-time summer staff member. I’m now a Graduate Research Assistant, and my duties include further developing the site. The original design was based on UT Arlington’s Art and Art History site. This site makes extensive use of PHP. (Visit site.)

Carolina Hope Christian Adoption Agency (International)

In 2005 I started working for Carolina Hope, and one of my duties was web site maintenance. I cut my teeth on Carolina Hope’s site, and eventually did a complete redesign of the site (what you see here). I continue to work for Carolina Hope on a part-time contract basis. (Visit site.)

Carolina Hope Christian Adoption Agency (Domestic)

Carolina Hope’s domestic adoptions site is essentially a duplication of the international site - in soft blue instead of red. Both sites are set up in CMS using WordPress. Along with the international site, this site evolved (very far!) from a free template. (Visit site.)

Solid Joys

Solid Joys is the ministry website of Jeremy and Bonnie Ruth Farmer, missionary candidates to Cambodia. Jeremy accompanied me on my first visit to Cambodia in 2002. Since then he’s gotten his PhD, taught several years at Northland International University, gotten married, and had 4 daughters. When he started deputation, we worked together on developing a site design that was visually consistent with his prayer cards. (Visit site.)

Main Street School of Music

I worked this site up for Earhart’s Main Street School of Music (Arlington, TX) over Christmas & New Year’s break (2008/2009). The owner chose J.I.C. Design because of the clean, simple look of my sites. When he saw my proposed design, he told me, “It doesn’t hurt my eyes like what I saw from the other guy.” The site is run by WordPress, and the content has been added (and will be maintained) by Main Street School of Music. (Visit site. If it’s pretty slow, that’s because of the non-optimal server it’s on — a decision made before I was hired.)

EMU International

I wrote this in HTML for EMU International, a Christian missionary organization. This was the first site I designed from the ground up. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t use tables for the structure (I’d use divs instead). But the site has held up well, and I still like the simple navigation and clean design. (Visit site.)

West Sands Adoptions

When I worked full time in adoptions, I happened to meet Kent Parke, West Sand’s director, during an adoption agency trip to China. While in Guangzhou, we talked about his agency’s web design needs, and this was the eventual result. I based West Sand’s site on a free template - but with significant alterations. (Visit site.)

New Life Bible Church

New Life Bible Church is a fairly new church plant in the DFW area here in Texas. As a member, I volunteered to put a website together for them. This is done in WordPress (for CMS), based on a free template. (Visit site.)
